How Tidy Care® Alert Works
How to Use Tidy Care® Alert
Monitoring your cat’s health has never been easier! Just follow these simple steps:
Start with a clean box. Fill with 2 to 3 inches of Alert.
Within 2 hours of use, make note of the colour of the litter granules. Repeat this step for 5 days and note the most common healthy colour seen. This is your baseline.
Monitor the granules’ colour as needed, but keep in mind that the colour can change throughout the day, particularly 1-2 hours after a cat eats.
Note: Colours outside of yellow to olive green are not considered viable baseline colours. If the litter colour remains outside of a healthy range for longer than 2 days, schedule a trip to your veterinarian for a checkup.
Daily Maintenance
Since there are urine clumps to scoop, just remove solids and stir the litter daily to ensure optimal absorbency and odour control.
Tidy Care Alert Colour Guide
Yellow to Olive Green
Normal or baseline shades range from yellow to olive green, and these are the most typical colours to see from Tidy Care Alert litter. (Within 1 to 2 hours after eating, the colour may appear more blue/dark green but should return to your cat’s baseline colour after.)
Deep Yellow/Orange
Acidic urine is represented by colours ranging from a deep yellow to orange. Acidic urine may be associated with potential metabolic acidosis or kidney tubular acidosis.
Blue/Dark Green
Alkaline urine is shown with granules ranging from blue to dark green. This type of urine may be associated with a potential urinary tract infection or elevated risk of struvite stone formation.
Red
Red granules indicate the presence of blood, which could mean serious health concerns for your cat. If this colour is shown in your cat’s litter, we recommend contacting your veterinarian immediately.
